3. Booking and Payment
All appointments must be paid for in full at the time of booking. A booking is confirmed once payment has been received.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that their contact details and booking information are accurate.
Any additional services or treatment time requested during an appointment will be discussed and agreed upon before being provided, including any additional charges.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Our separate Cancellation & Booking Policy applies to all appointments.
Please refer to that policy for cancellation notice periods, refunds, rescheduling arrangements, missed appointments and applicable statutory cancellation rights.
Nothing in these terms removes or limits any consumer rights provided by law.
5. Consultation and Medical Disclosure
Before treatment, clients may be asked to complete a consultation form and provide relevant information about their medical history, current health, medication, allergies, injuries, previous treatments and other factors that may affect treatment suitability.
Clients must provide accurate and complete information and inform the practitioner of any changes to their health before each appointment.
Failure to disclose relevant information may affect the practitioner's ability to assess suitability and provide treatment safely.
The practitioner may request medical advice or clearance from an appropriate healthcare professional before proceeding where necessary.
6. Informed Consent
The proposed treatment, its purpose, relevant benefits, material risks, possible side effects and suitable alternatives will be explained as appropriate before treatment.
Clients have the right to ask questions, decline any proposed treatment, request modifications or withdraw consent at any time.
Consent will be obtained before treatment begins and revisited where necessary. Consent to one treatment does not automatically constitute consent to another.
For acupuncture, relevant needling risks and aftercare will be explained. Appropriate infection prevention, single-use sterile needles and safe sharps disposal procedures will be followed.
For aromatherapy, relevant essential oil safety considerations, allergies, skin sensitivity and appropriate dilution will be considered.
For K-taping, skin sensitivity, adhesive allergies and potential skin reactions will be considered before application.
7. Client Safety and Suitability
Your safety and wellbeing are a priority. Treatments will be adapted to your individual circumstances, and appropriate precautions will be taken in response to disclosed health conditions, medications, pregnancy, allergies, recent surgery, injuries or other relevant factors.
The practitioner may decline, modify, postpone or discontinue a treatment if a contraindication, unexpected reaction or other safety concern arises.
Clients should inform the practitioner immediately if they experience pain, discomfort, dizziness, skin irritation or any other concerning reaction during treatment.
Where appropriate, clients will be advised to seek assessment from their GP, emergency services or another suitably qualified healthcare professional.
8. Nature and Limitations of Treatment
Complementary therapies are intended to support wellbeing and, where appropriate, assist with the management of symptoms. Outcomes vary between individuals.
No particular outcome, improvement or cure is guaranteed.
These services do not replace medical diagnosis, emergency treatment or necessary medical care. Clients should not discontinue prescribed medication or disregard medical advice on the basis of complementary therapy.
Where a client has persistent, worsening or unexplained symptoms, appropriate medical assessment should be sought.
9. Professional Conduct and Boundaries
All treatments will be provided respectfully, professionally and with due regard for client dignity, privacy and personal boundaries.
Clients will be appropriately covered during massage treatments, with only the area being treated exposed as necessary.
The practitioner reserves the right to terminate an appointment if a client behaves abusively, threateningly, inappropriately or in a manner that compromises safety or professional boundaries.
Any decision to discontinue treatment will be handled professionally, with consideration given to the client's immediate wellbeing and any applicable refund obligations.
10. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
-
Provide accurate and relevant health information.
-
Follow reasonable pre-treatment and aftercare advice.
-
Arrive at the agreed appointment time.
-
Respect the practitioner's professional boundaries.
-
Seek appropriate medical attention when advised or when symptoms require it.
The practitioner cannot guarantee an outcome or be responsible for consequences arising from information that a client has knowingly withheld or from failure to follow appropriate advice. This does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Confidentiality
Client information will be treated confidentially and handled in accordance with applicable confidentiality and data protection requirements.
Information will only be disclosed where authorised by the client, necessary for appropriate care, required by law or justified by a relevant safeguarding or serious safety concern.
Further information about how personal information is collected, used, stored and protected will be provided in the separate Privacy Notice.
12. Due Diligence and Professional Responsibility Statement
Catherine Day Holistic Healthcare and Wellbeing is committed to providing treatments responsibly, ethically and within the limits of professional competence.
The practitioner will take reasonable steps to:
-
Maintain appropriate training, qualifications, professional development and insurance for the services provided.
-
Work within the scope of their competence and professional standards.
-
Assess client suitability and consider relevant contraindications before treatment.
-
Obtain informed consent and explain relevant treatment risks.
-
Follow appropriate hygiene, infection prevention and equipment safety procedures.
-
Use suitable products, materials and techniques for the treatment being provided.
-
Maintain appropriate client records and protect confidential information.
-
Recognise when a client's needs fall outside the scope of practice and recommend appropriate referral where necessary.
Treatments will be provided with reasonable care and skill. Clients are encouraged to raise any concerns before, during or after treatment so that these can be addressed appropriately.
This statement does not guarantee that treatment will be free from risk or that a particular result will be achieved. It does not exclude or restrict any legal responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Complaints and Feedback
If you have a concern about a treatment or service, please contact Catherine Day Holistic Healthcare and Wellbeing directly so that the matter can be reviewed and addressed fairly.
Complaints will be handled professionally, confidentially and in accordance with any applicable professional or insurance requirements.
Nothing in this section prevents clients from exercising their statutory rights or contacting an appropriate regulatory or consumer protection body.
14. Changes to These Terms
These terms may be reviewed and updated when necessary to reflect changes in services, professional practice or legal requirements.
The terms applicable to a booking will be made available to clients before they agree to the relevant service. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights already acquired under a contract.
15. Statutory Rights
Nothing in these terms and conditions affects any statutory rights clients have under applicable UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and, where relevant, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Where any provision of these terms conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable legal requirement will take precedence.
